An excellent evening's cricket saw the Histon U11s take on Coton at the Histon Rec.
Histon won the toss and batted tidily, only losing 3 wickets in their 15 overs, and posting a score of 249.
Coton were a little bit messier with some unusual decisions particularly running between the wickets, and conceded 10 wickets on the way to a nailbiting finish, and with 2 runs required to win off the last ball Coton achieved an unlikely win.
Special mention goes to the Histon bowler (I think it was Freddie) who retracted his appeal after an unfortunate slip left a Coton batter stranded on his back and run out. Hugely sporting piece of play - good on you!
The match was played in great spirit with lots of smiles, and whilst Coton got the points, cricket was the winner.
Thanks to Celia and all the Histon supporting crew for a very enjoyable evening.
